I am a retired Command Sergeant Major with 30 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Army. I enlisted as a Private in 1972, at age 20, during a time of war. Through dedication and mastering my specialized skills, I rose rapidly through the ranks and, in my 17th year, was promoted to Command Sergeant Major. I led soldiers from squad level all the way to Fort Gordon’s Garrison Command Sergeant Major, overseeing the activation of two companies and two battalions, a division redeployment from Europe, and multiple combat deployments—each unit returning home without injury or casualty.  During my retirement, I was awarded my second Legion of Merit medal.
